Pagosa Springs Fiber Festival

This lady was selling all Colorado-grown fiber.  She was really nice.  I bought a bunch of yarn off of her to play with.

The Burbachs are the nicest of people, and we're going to be neighbors in the fall.  Woot!

Sheep to shawl!  This is where they start with a bag of fiber, card it, spin it, and then weave it into a shawl during the festival.  Completely awesome!

So, hey!  Sorry for the long blog hiatus, but I was all-consumed in getting ready for the festival. It was a great first time, and I made quite a bit of $$, plus I made some excellent contacts and met a buttload of supremely awesome people.  We had a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to our next show in Monte Vista on July 11-12.

LOST! OMG!

Oh, wow.   We watched last week's episode last night (we don't have cable/satellite/dsl, so we go to my mother's and download it off of itunes.)

Anyway, holy shit.  I love this show.  I have never been so stupid-addicted to a tv show in my life, including those times when I was a pre-teen and had a fancy for the A-Team and The Dukes of Hazzard.

My Mother's Day?  My husband is fetching me steaks to grill to perfection.  There are gin and tonics, and all of my favorite movies.  There may also be cheese and crackers.  It's a good day, yo.

The Pimple From Hell!

Dudes, I have the biggest, ugliest damned zit on my chin right now.  Lordy.  It has come to a head, so it is particularly attractive at the moment.  (Don't ask for a photo--not gonna happen.)

I'm going to be 36 in a few months.  According to my mother, I'm a probably only 5 or so years south of starting The Menopause.  Sometimes, though, I wonder if I'm coming or going.  

Seriously.  It's so bad that I considered putting a bandaid on my face and saying I got in a fight.

Merino top that I dyed up yesterday.  The loft in this fiber is incredible.  It's so soft.  Kitten soft. Baby soft.  Cloud soft.  Absolutely delicious.  I really don't know how I'm going to be able to sell it. It's like I'm selling bundles of guaranteed happy thoughts.

Spinning this top will be just like spinning a cloud.  Or a kitten.  Minus all the scratching and biting.

I think I may be mentally ill...

Despite the fact that I received fifty skeins of sock yarn in the mail yesterday:

...and I have another 40 skeins of yarn to add to this pile...do you know what I did when we got paid?

I ordered more sock yarn.  The Noro Kureyon sock yarn with all the beautiful colorways, not such great yarn, I hear, but amazing colors.  So I ordered it.  Three skeins, just for myself. Because I am clearly out of my mind.  Sock Yarn Fever has made me crazy.
