What I did last week

Drop Spindle Yarn
I managed to get 415 yards on approx. 4 oz of handpainted roving from here.

Mittens, extra warm
Mittens from my own thick/thin handspun.  Extremely warm and lots of fun to knit.

Noro hat
Earflap hat, made from Noro Yoroi.  I don't know the colorway, because I lost the label.  It doesn't matter anyway, because they don' t make Yoroi anymore.  I love this hat!  Super warm and the ear flaps are different colors, which I totally dig.  I modified the pattern from the Kitty Hat in Stitch N Bitch.  Easy peasy and a very quick knit.

Doods...I need a camera that isn't 5 years old.  I dream of digital SLRs.

  1. I envy your knitting skills. My garandma knitted, Mom crocheted, and I never got the hang of either. {rueful smile}

    Tho I can braid pretty well, if I may say so myself. {REALLY BIG GRIN}

  2. I can't seem to get the hang of crochet. Possibly because I'm not super motivated about it. I prefer the way knitted goods look.

    I got REALLY good at braiding when my daughter was small.

  3. Braids...nom. Wait...no! Anyways, you are a knitting fool!

    I know this. I watch you in amazement. I get bored so easily...

  4. I'm surprised at what I can do with braiding. I've discovered some pretty interesting and fun techniques that stretch the definition for me. {SMILE}

    However, knitting is as far beyond me as crochet: very. {rueful smile}
